Navigating Revolving Doors and Thresholds with Your Service Dog

Thresholds can be a big deal for dogs, and getting accidentally squished in, or hit by a door, can easily make dogs door-shy, and apprehensive about entering buildings.

I made this mistake once, early in my career with a guide dog who got bumped by a heavy door. It took nearly 3 weeks to get her confidently navigating up to, and through doors again. It was a mistake that I could have easily avoided with the right training protocol.

So in this video I show you how to train your dog (and yourself!) to navigate off-side and revolving doors. It's something most people don't think about, but there is a way to do it that keeps your dog safe. I call it the spin move!
